About the event

WANTED - Photo exhibition - A Collaboration by Black Hands studio and Kyara Art House.

Opening/Vernissage of WANTED - A Black Hands Studio collaboration with Kyara Arthouse.  A unique series of one-off portraiture using the 19th Century wet plate collodion technique. WANTED documents a gang of artisinal ambrotypes, shot in Hoi An by Boris Zuliani and Hugo Armano on custom-built equipment at Black Hands Studio.

Please join us to meet the artists and artisans in person - and a big welcome to Kyara for an event of food, drink, art and music.

****************

This portrait series profiles a team of workers and artisans who were instrumental in the construction and design of Kyara Arthouse. The house was completed by the Thu Bon river in between lockdowns as the uncertain days of the COVID-19 pandemic rippled through central Viet Nam.

Three years later, we celebrate their work and collaborative efforts in the first exposition to be featured in the Kyara Arthouse gallery space.

The WANTED exhibition will be open this coming holiday weekend, Sunday April 30 from 2-6pm, and 10am-6pm on Monday, to honor  International Workers May Day celebrations.

To view the expo outside these times, please PM us here at Kyara Arthouse to arrange an appointment.
